Vijay’s Thuppakki breaks Ajith’s Billa 2 record

The trailer of
Vijay’s upcoming movie Thuppakki, which
was launched on October 10, Wednesday
has received a tremendous response and
has created a new record on social
networking sites like Twitter and
YouTube. The first trailer of Thuppakki
was released at the audio launch function
of the movie at Sheraton Park Hotel,
Chennai.
In just 2 days of its release, the trailer of
Thuppakki has received 737,399 views on
social media websites, which is said to be
the highest-ever received for a Tamil
movie. Vijay fans were very anxious to
see Thuppakki’s trailer as they have been
waiting for the movie for more than four
months. So, as soon as the trailer was
released it got a quick response.
Ajith’s Billa 2 received 552,399 hits in 48
hours on the video-sharing site.
Thuppakki’s trailer has got about 185,000
more views more than Billa 2. Thuppakki
has taken the top spot among 30 most
awaited movies in a public poll done by
Behindwoods.
Last month, trailer of Neethaane En
Ponvasantham, a film by Gautham Menon
received about 5.5 lakh hits, thereby
breaking Billa 2’s record.
Thuppakki’s new teaser trailer is a 41-
second video-clip. The trailer is short,
punchy and sleek, which has fulfilled the
great expectations of the Vijay’s fans.
Vijay speaks little; in the other scenes we
could hear only bullets shot at his
enemies.
The trailer mainly showcases the action
factor in Thuppakki. The action sequences
of Vijay are the main highlight of the
trailer and Kajal makes only a brief
appearance in the first part of the video.
A. R. Murugadoss has directed Thuppakki,
which stars Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal and
Vidyut Jamwal in the lead roles. It is an
action-thriller and Kalaipuli S Dhanu has
produced the movie. The story revolves
around a cop, which is played by Vijay and
the movie is set in Mumbai. The movie
will hit the screens on Diwali.
