Airtel Introduces Shared 3G

Basking in the popularity of its new jingle
which encourages sharing among friends,
Airtel has now come up with a similar
concept even for its 3G data service
plans.
Using the new plan, Airtel users can share
unlimited 3G internet with 2 other
members, i.e. a total of 3 devices can be
run using the same plan. The new plan is
titled the Data Share plan and is available
for a 30-day period. The charges have
been kept nominal and ‘unlimited sharing’
includes maximum 5GB of data that can
be used, post which, regular 3G charges
apply.
The plan can be shared between prepaid
and postpaid users, with the only criteria
being users need to be subscribed to
Airtel circle.
The service provider also introduced a
shared WiFi Hangout Plan. In the new
plan, users can avail broadband internet
service on their devices at certain
‘hotspots’ in the cities of Mumbai, Delhi
NCR and Bangalore. Customers need to
make a nominal payment depending on
usage requirement and locate the public
hotspot in the city of choice. Airtel is
however mum on the speeds of the
broadband which might be the catch to
the deceptively amazing new service.
